TO: POTENTIAL BIDDERS
The Owner seeks competitive proposals, under seal, from general contractors or subcontractors with special experience and qualifications in rehabilitating historic properties for Phase 2 rehabilitation of historic Chattooga Academy, at 304 N. Main Street, LaFayette, Georgia. Proposals will be accepted by the Owner before 3:00 p.m. local standard time on the 3rd day of July 2008, for the following project: Phase 2 rehabilitation of historic Chattooga Academy. Bids must be received by hand delivery or certified mail. Faxed Bids will not be accepted.
All bidders are required to submit qualifications by providing copies of professional licenses. Bidders may submit Bids for Phase 2 work as a whole, as well as breaking down Bids into individual project components, such as plumbing, HVAC, etc.
Project Description: The historic Chattooga Academy was constructed in 1836. The scope of improvements for this Phase 2 historic rehabilitation project generally includes replacing existing plumbing, electrical and gas systems and installing HVAC.
Technical memorandum bid documents for a Stipulated Sum contract may be obtained by Licensed General Contractors and Licensed Subcontractors at LaFayette City Hall by written request at P.O. Box 89, LaFayette, GA, 30728, or in person at 207 S. Duke Street, LaFayette, GA. Cost for technical memorandum documents is $5 per set, plus postage if mailed.
Bidders will be required to provide Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the Bid Amount.
Bidders will be required to provide both a Performance and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100 % of the contract price.
Your offer will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 60 days after submission.
The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers.
