The Water, Wastewater & Sewerage Department office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.   For emergencies during those hours, call the department at (706) 638-6118.  For emergencies after hours and on weekends, call (706) 375-7810.

 

LaFayette owns and operates a water treatment and distribution system that provides water service for about 16,000 customers and industry in LaFayette and south Walker County. 

The city also owns and operates a wastewater treatment and sewer collection system, providing sewerage service for about 7,200 customers and industry, primarily within the corporate city limits.

 

The department's staff consists of secretary Phyllis Wadsworth, sewerage department assistant director Wally Meeks, water department foreman Teddy Larmon and water treatment foreman Ricky Reynolds.
